Getting Ready
What do you do before the cleaners arrive? Getting organized will lower the time it takes to clean your home. The fewer items we need to move out of the way, the quicker we can clean your home. In the bathroom take items off the vanity, toilet tank and tub, drop them into a basket and throw it under the sink before we come. After the bathroom is cleaned quickly and efficiently you can replace your items onto freshly sanitized surfaces. The soap dish and toothbrush holder can be left out, we will remove the soap scum from them both. Please also turn off all lights in all bathrooms well before the cleaners arrive, as the bulbs cannot be cleaned while hot - they will explode on contact. In the kitchen, again, clear the clutter by placing papers, bills, pens, note paper, keys, sunglasses, anything considered to be cluttering your surface areas into a basket or even on a dinner plate - simply walk around your kitchen and drop all loose items onto the plate and place it on your kitchen table. We will then be able to use your counter space to quickly take apart your stove burners, scrub them properly in the sink and replace them without having to clear the space to perform their tasks. In the bedrooms simply try to show as much floor as you can... pick up any clothes, pillows, blankets, comforters, toys, books, etc and toss them all on the bed. The cleaners will then quickly look for a dirty clothing hamper, take all clothing off the bed and put it in the hamper for you. With no clutter on the floor, we can move around your bedroom freely, ensuring the window sills and baseboards are vacuumed while gaining the largest amount of floor space to clean.
In the living room and dining room, try to keep items on display such as ornaments, figurines, and precious old photos in glass shelving of some sort, to keep them dust-free longer. This will ensure these delicate items are preserved in a safe place, you can clearly view them and they don't have to be handled as much.

How do you prepare for Move Out Cleanings?
When moving out and having your apartment or condo cleaned, try to do these three things:
1. Empty everything out of the apartment. If you leave behind garbage, ie. soft drinks on the counter, eggs in the fridge, furniture you don't want anymore, etc, we will have to take it out and this will take time... time to find out where the garbage goes, up and down stairs, elevators, etc all the while using up valuable time that you are paying for.
2. Leave light bulbs in the sockets. If there is no lighting, we will not be able to see clearly enough to give your place a good cleaning. Please make sure that all light bulbs are functioning, and not burnt out - if you have relied on lamps that are now no longer in the suite, it's easy to forget how dark the place can get once they are gone. Try to leave behind a small lamp for us to use, then take it with you after the cleaning.
3. Leave a kitchen chair or small step ladder in the apartment. We will be better able to reach your bathroom vanity lights, kitchen stove fan, high cabinets and the tops of doorframes if you can leave behind a kitchen chair or small step ladder for us to use. This too can easily be taken with you after the cleaning.
We will arrive with all the cleaning supplies we need to clean your home. The vacuum, various mops, buckets of cleaning products, clean dry cloths, paper towels, various scrubbing tools and lots of elbow grease. Try to arrange for us to park as close to your home as possible, especially if parking and access is restricted in your area. Then exhale, go out and read the paper and have a coffee. Come back in a couple of hours and inhale the freshness. You'll get your damage deposit back then ask for a letter of reference from your landlord. You never know when it may come in handy.
